Dare to bare?

I eventually got my foundation tutorial up after countless amounts of messages.
I have actually recorded this three times but bad lighting left them unusable, thankfully the day I did this it was bright but not too sunny.

I've seen some foundation tutorials on YouTube that confuse me, why do they do their foundation video with all their make-up on. Which leads me to the title do they dare to bare?

It took some self convincing for me to be completely make-up free on screen for the world to see. I'm not vain just aware of my flaws and feel make-up disguises them.

I have the best subscribers ever who always leave the lovely comments which take my mind off the horrid ones. I think it's important to not take to heart negativity and look towards positive aspects of the situation.(not the jersey shore guy lol)

I am thankful to have good skin (now) I have battled eight long years with terrible skin and I mean terrible! I have seen doctors, been prescribed pills and potions and left with scars.

A good approach to skincare throughout this time has meant that my skin is still healthy and moisturised. A big misconception regarding blemishes and acne is that you shouldn't moisturise as it will block pores...wrong. All you need to do is find an oil free moisturiser that is non-comedogenic and suitable for sensitive skin. Dry skin will make the situation worse.

It took me a lot of time and money to work it out but persevere.
The foundation I use daily is M.A.C face and body, it is perfect for me and I have no problems with it.

I will write a post tomorrow on my foundation routine and hopefully do a tutorial on my skincare.

  2. You look gorgeous without makeup. Maybe there is hope for me yet. I am 28 and still have horrible skin...acne, flakes, etc.
I know you didn't have time to take my first 'dare to wear' challenge but I have posted a second one on my blog if you get a chance to check it out.
