If you didn't know I had shoulder length hair would you know I had hair extensions in here?
I have in extensions by Halo hair. This is a new system to me but I am behind in the extension game.
This set includes 12 pieces of well crafted extensions. Normally I use 3 wefts but in this set you get 6 singles for around the hairline 3 medium and 3 larger.
The single pieces really make a difference and I'm not sure why I haven't had them earlier.
Dee contacted me from Halo and asked if she could send me some extensions to review.
I gave her my shade and viola!
I was so excited to receive them and they haven't disappointed me at all.
Noticeable differences to my other extensions.
- Rubber/silicone strip to add extra hold and protect hair from snapping
Quality clips with extra strip
Cheaper small clips with no protecting strip
Also can you see on the quality strip it is held on with an extra stitch for security!
It might be hard to see but I've marked it for you.
- Halo extensions are doubled over for thickness, I don't know the exact craftsmanship of the weft however I can see that compared to my others it has a double band saving me the hassle of stitching it myself.

As with all extensions the ends are a bit wispy so my advice is to trim them, my pet peeve is girls who wear extensions down to their arse and their natural hair is only half that length so you see that visible line.
It's so tacky and looks absolutely fake. I think hair extensions should blend with your own to create a natural looking mane. I will cut mine a couple of inches longer than my hair to create that extra thickness and bounce.
I think Victoria B has a lot of style however her extensions are always lank, thin and cheap looking even though I bet she paid a small fortune.
If she kept a shoulder length cut and used them for volume her hair would look amazing.
The set I received was the Deluxe 24" Remy human hair extensions for £79.00
It seems pricey but thats because it is real hair that can be treated like your own so use heat tools, wash and even dye. Beware though over styling will dry them out so look after them.
I paid £60.00 for mine previous to these from a stall in the Metro Centre and I'm gutted after seeing the price of some on the Halo website. The ones I bought were pathetically thin so I had to buy 3 packs and double them up myself and the clips are so thin and weak.
My opinion
I adore these and am very grateful to have been offered to try them as I have contemplating buying new ones for a few weeks.
I would have bought myself the 20" ones as I don't need the length too long but if you have very long hair the 24" will suit you well.
The colour system is fairly spot on, I chose the chocolate colour but even though my hair has been dyed since picking the colour they still match well.
If the price is an issue or if you have thin hair and need less wefts try a half head which is a lot cheaper or the synthetic hair.
Personally I'd rather wait and save for human hair it will be worth it!

Can you do much with extensions?
If you think extensions are just boring then forget it there's loads of styles you can achieve from a faux ponytail to Olivia Palermo hair (I will do a tutorial on this) Braids and beautiful updo's.

I read your blog, you said you are using Face & Body in N3 but I got a big problem.
ReplyDeleteI'm using MAC concealer in NW25 (I am Asian but my skin doesn't look that yellow so I NEVER bought any foundatinon which says "for asian"shade. As they made me look so yellow)
You're also 25 (NC) but you skin look super light even you used to mix with C6. And your photos doesn't look that tan.
I know concealer and foundation shade are different but you have already mixed with C6
Did you use REVLON / YSL / NARS foundation? If so, what shade?
My friend is going to Canada so I'm planning to buy this foundation. I couldn't go to the shop and try but I really really really want to but this foundation, PLEASE help me. =[
For example:
If you were shade 1(which is N3 mixed with C6), I probably got like shade 3/4.......... LOL

ReplyDeleteOh no don't go by what foundation looks like on other people. I only mix c6 when I have false tan on. Other than that I am N3 or C3 the C shades have more yellow so go for the N shades. I dont know what number you will be though. I got 2 different opinions from the MAC counters so its difficult to say :(

Hi, I just wanted to say I love your hair and make up tutorials. When I saw the fishtail braid one I just had to try it. Turns out it's surprisingly easy, I just don't have thick enough hair to pull it off.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I've got a thing for musicals, theatre and all things related, and I was wondering if you could do a hair tutorial for Bernadette Peters' hair in Gypsy (I'm sure lots of other women have worn this do, it was popular, she's the one that comes to mind right now, though). There's a video of her performing Rose's Turn on youtube where she wears her hair this way.
I've tried just curling my hair and holding it with pins, but it just doesn't work that way, I could really use some help and I've found nothing online. If you could do it, it would be great.

ReplyDeleteYour hair looks lovely BUT I have to tell you about my experience with Halo Hair Extensions. I bought a large quantity of the Halo and they are advertised at 100g however when we received it, it was only 85-90g and very gappy. So the owner of the company John Russo said to send it back and he would issue a refund. It took 3 weeks and tens of emails and phonecalls before we finally got some of our refund. He has not returned all of the money and we are still in dispute. He has been so rude saying I am not a priority of his and he doesn't have the time for dealing with this! So please anyone buying from Halo Hair Extensions or John Russo be very careful!
I also have a problem with this company.. i recieved the items FAULTY. clips are hanging off, and hair is sticking out due to sh*tty stitching. i paid £70 for these extensions and they are not good enough! John Russo tells me im not entitled to a refund because i've had them longer than 7 days!! DONT!!!!! Buy from Halo/ John Russo.
