Lil bling, nail chromes by MyFace cosmetics

Let me introduce you to a gorgeous range of high shine metallic finish nail polishes by MyFace cosmetics.

Not only do these amazing shades look like liquid metal on the hands you can get matching shades for the eyes too!

The nail chromes are called lil bling and the very popular eyeshadows are called bling tones, both are packed with metallic shades that look super expensive.

Myface cosmetics is a brand created by world famous make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury, the range is split into 3 skin tones. Fair, medium and dark, my all time favourite lipliner is called nude in the fair section and I always make sure I have a back up. View the range here

There's 10 shades in the nail chrome range, I have swatched 8 and each one of them are beautiful so let me show you and you can decide...

I applied 2 coats of nail polish to get a true opaque finish, some actually didn't need it but I wanted to achieve the same mirror shine for each shade.

I used Morococo on my nails, it's a lovely caramel colour with pink tones. This is how it appears with only one coat!

All the pictures shown are ones I took myself, please ask before using them

How metallic is it!

My opinion
I personally find some metallic polishes go on like liquid metal then dry a little matte with a rough feeling lacquer. This went on very smooth, some were very opaque and they dried quite quick with a high shine finish.
I think lighter skins would look pretty in the Morococo and purple haze and I could see darker skin looking gaw-gus in the Diamonds and pearls or Bellbottom blues.
If I was to highlight any problem areas I would say that if you have any ridges or peeling of the free edge then you really need to buff the nail bed so it is smooth then apply a ridge filler like I did. Even if your nails are smooth I would say a base coat is needed for a perfect looking application.
As this is very metallic it will pick up any flaws on the nails so keep them neat, alternatively apply over nail extensions.

Price
£5.99

Good buy or Good bye?
Good buy If you like metallic polishes and gleaming nails you will absolutely skip with joy with these. Good bye if you have badly conditioned nails, however if you reeeally wanted to try these then you could buy some extensions and cheat your way to perfect talons!

Another simple smokey eye!

This a look I wear ALOT and didn't really want to do a tutorial as I didn't want to fall into the 'one trick pony category'
Even so I knew I would get requests indefinately so I did a quick demo. I will probably get people complaining that I didn't show the full face application but come on guys, how much time do you think I have in a day. Talking and doing make-up at the same time takes alot longer than normal, especially when you have verbal diarrhea like me.

So the look was simple, a soft smokey eye using 3 colours basically. Choose the eyeliner how you'd like it. Me personally I like mine thick but go with how you do it.

Im sure on my lips I have the Michael Todd pen lipgloss in babys kiss and on my cheeks Myface cosmetics in Cost del Chic.

The M.A.C accentuate sculpt and shape was from one of their collections but not on the permanent line. I last seen it in the Dsquared launch so I'm sure it's going to come round again.
All the Micheal Todd cosmetics used are in my review post, so check out my thoughts on these blighters before you want to buy .see my review here

I love purple smokey and grey smokey eyes what's your favourite combo?

Review-Michael Todd cosmetics

I was kindly sent some products from the PR team at Michael Todd cosmetics. I was given a list of items for me to choose from and this is what I chose.

Starting with the eyes-

I chose the brown eyeliner not knowing it was a glitter pencil. I didn't like this as it did drag and scratched but the brown was very intense. Not keen on the clumps of glitter but there's other great pencils on the site.

I was surprised by the palette as I didn't know I was receiving it but I really liked it. The colours were very wearable and the payoff was great. I liked that it had light matte shades as I prefer my highlight on the brow bone to be matte. I could great a few nice looks with this.

I also chose a primer, now some of you may know I love my face primer but never really use an eyeshadow base (primer) I normally just do the usual of putting foundation on my eyelids and setting. This was a pleasant surprise. I compared it to my UDPP and just the swatch alone could set the two apart. The urban decay primer potion is thinner and more watery, the M.T base was more like a creamy concealer and set well. I will say that with the UDPP being thinner in consistency it does dry quicker and completely sets but the Michael Todd base felt a little more kind of moisturised so this will be perfect for applying glitter and loose shadow but my drag a little with matte eyeshadows.

The mineral eyeshadow I chose from the list was Little Duck Key, ($17) It's size is similar to Benefits Mineral eyeshadow pot but I paid quite a bit more for that.
Little Duck Key is a gorgeous emerald green with an added sparkle. When buffed the green fades and the darker colour becomes exposed which is amazing. I wore this on it's own with no other eyeshadows on my eye and loved it.

Moving onto the lips

Some were definitely something I would buy and some were a bit sketchy.
Firstly the lipsticks, I decided I wanted a creamy red and a soft peach. They were both quite moisturising and creamy in texture but not from the Creme section as I first thought.
Affection (red) was from the naked kiss lipsticks section $16
Just Peachy (peach) was from the shimmer section $16

I will say they are quite small but they are perfect for carrying on a night out. Affection is always in my bag!

Lipgloss is something I don't massively wear, I would rather wear lippie than gloss but realistically gloss is so much less of a carry on. I mean you don't have to worry if it's smeared or stuck to your teeth, I like to try different things though so these were my picks.

First up a click pen lipgloss, I thought this was going to be good but was a bit disappointed. The top that you click kept getting stuck and the gloss was ok but separated a little. I thought the colour was quite nice but may suit someone else better.

Next I chose a normal wand lipgloss but decided on a bubblegum pink which I expected to be a little brighter. This had more of a frosty shimmer than I expected which made it feel a tiny bit gritty (to me) and wasn't the finish I like but I know others will like this as it's similar to a lot on the high street.

My loves

Little Duck Key mineral eyeshadow
Affection lipstick (I advise the naked kiss range)

My lust haves (what I'm after)

Shimmer lipsticks in Heart beat and Morning glow
Naked kiss lipstick in Guilt and Pleasure
Conceal khol eye crayon (perfect for dark skin girls for the water line)
Custom lip and eye palettes
Brow powder quartet in dark - the other shades have a bit too much red in from the pictures, go for ashy shades for realistic brows.

Looking on the website there's some nice products and I'm impressed by the eyeshadows. A good idea for pressies especially since xmas isn't too far away.

You can get these in the UK too at Love-makeup.co.uk

Disclaimer-I was sent all of the products above to review. I was not paid for this review and all the opinions expressed are my own and 100% honest. It is not in my interest to give a good review on a product I wouldn't recommend!

CocoNUTTY about Palmers body butter

For a long time I have used body butters as moisturisers. I adore the Bodyshop satsuma one but really though £12!!! it's very steep considering how quickly I go through them.
I also love the palmer coco butter, it's very moisturising but sometimes marks my clothes and smells like popcorn.

I know it's very popular but the smell is a little sickly at times, In fact my mam can't stand it.

I know they brought a olive one out but I didn't know about this coconut delight!
I mean how long has this been available?
Either way i'm very happy, it's the creamy moisturising quality I love but with a delicate exotic aroma, aaaand it's less than £4. Can I get a woohoo...

It's perfect to pop into my bag as it's dinky but the body shop one is quite big.

There's a few smells to choose from, if you don't like strong smells then the olive one will suit you better.

My regular one

It's the most moisturising cream I have ever used, at the moment my skin is getting so dry (i'm positive it's from fake tan you know) so this is helping me right out.

The one on the left is a solid formula and leaves a heavier residue as it's so thick so beware.

Good buy or good bye?

The Palmers cream is a good buy for anyone as it's light and soft with a variety of smells however the solid cream is a good bye as it does leave a slight residue which can mark clothes so a lighter cream is best. However if you have very very dry skin this is best worn at night.

Available in most pharmacy's,drugstores and supermarkets

Space NK event

Last night I attended a Space NK event, it was the first I have went to and I did enjoy it but I think others may benefit more. You could indulge in free make-overs from a Nars make-up artist and speak to the skin and hair care specialists.

I instead took adavantage of my freedom and went to have a good old nosey around the products.
Sometimes I feel as though you can't have a proper browse in cosmetic stores as the pressure of glaring eyes from the assistants gets too much.

I gained alot from just testing and sniffing products I have found some really nice products that I would have otherwise overlooked.

Here's some amazing picks some well known others more low key

Chantecaille had some lovely products, I have never tried any of them but the foundations looked nice. The eyeshadow palette above was pretty but didn't have brilliant payoff.
This is a swatch of the Chantecaille palette, you can see it's very neutral.
The LIPSTICK QUEEN

My new obsession, I can't stop thinking about the lip crayons. It baffled my mind, honestly they looked so bright buy applied like a sheer gloss. It's brilliant!
The lipsticks in the butterfly ball had flecks of blue in (to make teeth appear whiter) how amazing. I'm in make-up love.
Take a look at the swatch below.

 Lime Crime
I also checked out the Lime Crime lipsticks. I adore their eyeshadows as they're very pigmented and boy these lipsticks have not let the side down. Lisa Eldridge (fantastico make-up artist) has the orange one that she used in a shoot!
 Priced £14.00

I moved to the beauty and hair products and found some new potential buys.
First was a perfume that I didn't photograph but it's called Philoskytos by Diptyque.
At first I thought it was really weird but when I got home it smelt very nice and I swear I could smell it in my sleep!

I tried some EVE LOM products and even got the eyelift in my goodie bag.
The Laura Mercier bath and body creams and milks were to die for, absolutely gorgeous. I was drooling over the honey bath milk.

The Bumble and Bumble section was a hair care lovers dream, I was trying everything, this is a pic of me (and my champers oooo) with the surf spray in my hair. It really did make it beachy.

Another fantastic product was the ORIBE 24K GOLD wax, they had 3 colours black, gold and silver. Inside it was like solid pomade but with a little scoop and rub it warmed into a light wax heavily packed with pieces of gold.
Im guessing you rub i through the hair for added sparkle?
I put it on the ends of Nadines dark hair and it did shine but I think it would look best on blondes.
Take a look!

We were given champagne and canepes and left with a brilliant goodie bag worth over £100.
I can't wait to try the Lipocils eyelash conditioning gel.

If you have never been to one of these events I say "get ursel there"
Tickets cost £10 and happen every September.

A canny little change to my normal evenings

Have any of you tried these products?

Easy fish tail braid

This was my second attempt at the fish tail braid, the first one wasn't exactly right but it still was wearable.
This one turned out alot better after realising I was meant to keep it to 2 strands.

This look is perfect in a hurry as the messy look is cool, you could even turn this into a bun to keep it out of the way.

I wore mine to go for dinner with some of my girlies, this is how it looked. Where's wally?
Ok so you can't see it well but it doesn't look bad eh! not sure what we're laughing at???

Btw how much does my friend look like Katy Perry in the black shirt at the front!

How you going to wear yours?

Skulls and horse shoes

It's official i'm addicted to jewellery, I can not go past a jewellery stand without buying stuff. I think it's a habbit, albeit a legal one but still it's becoming obsessive :)

I am buying pieces quicker than I post them, I have more to show you but this is what I picked up in the London Topshop which is mahoosive.

This store had a whole level for accessories. I was panicking as I had a train to catch so I just scanned the area for something unusual and this is it!

Some aren't a fan of skulls but I think they're quite cool and plus these are wearing flowers in their hair (of course they're not they have no hair!) so they don't seem as scary.

These little gems aren't real gold as the £6.00 price tag may giveaway but they're a cute way of rocking up an outfit.

Next was a bracelet I have wanted for a while, admittedly it was the dogeared one I wanted but I thought this was similar and I loove the horse shoe.

This b.e.a.u.ty was from Topshop also but is found on the Orelia stand amongst some other gorgeous finds.

This was £12 but worth every penny, I think it looks more expensive with the gold accents and the pull tie.

Do you have a beauty or accessory addiction?

Getting graphic with Illamasqua

My recent trip to the Illamasqua event lead me to meet the amazingly talented  make-up artist Alex Box.
Whilst talking to her I noticed her eyeliner, I loved that look on the runway but have never seen anyone wear it for an everyday look.
Alex's was a less dramatic version of mine, I just used hers as a little inspiration.
I didn't want to be weird and stare at her face because I hate it when people do that, so I took a five second mental note of the shape and stored it for this look.

It's not perfect but I didn't care as it was the first time I had used the liquid pen

The line extends into the crease from the winged corner, although you can't see very well I have pulled this down under the lower lashes too.

It is wearable but for the daring, I think this is a bit hard core for some.

I have paired it with pink cheeks and lip

What you need

Liquid liner - (Illamasqua precision ink)
Girl about town lipstick by MAC

So go get arty with your make-up, what you waiting for!

Emerald nails

How gorgeous is this?
This is one of the two lovely goodies I received at the Illamasqua event courtesy of Illamasqua themselves.

There's an array of these jewel toned products in their new collection and I heart them!
They've got a winter party feel about them and I can see this colour been worn out.

Colour
Viridian (a rich pearlised green)

Quality
Great actually, the following picture shown is only one application. I have noticed that Illamasqua's polishes are fairly opaque.

Price
£13.00

There's another 3 in the collection and the red has caught my eye.

You can buy the quad for £39.50 saving £12.50.

What's your new season polish?
