M.A.C Vs Collection 2000

In my recent tutorial Eva longoria inspired make-up I used M.A.C melon pigment on the lid but found a similar product 1/5th of the price. I wouldn't call it a DUPE as it's not an exact match however it is very close and equally as pretty.

The pigment in question is by Collection 2000 called Paradise.

You can most definitely see the similarity however the differences I can see are that the Paradise has more of a gold tone and the Melon has orange tones. If I was to choose a favourite out of the two it would be the Collection 2000 eyeshadow as it is finely milled in comparison to the M.A.C one and it applies smooth and evenly.

Price

M.A.C Mellon
£15

Collection 2000
£2.99 (varies, some are priced 99p on Amazon)

The quality and quantity are incredible on the Collection 2000 pigment making it a very reasonable and highly recommendable product.

#TIP

FOILING
To foil apply a metallic eyeshadow on a flat shader brush and spray with a light mist of water like Fix +. It crease a smooth foil like finish that looks stunning on the lid.

You can purchase the pigments at Boots and Superdrug but I have found it difficult to find them selling it on line.

Which do you think looks the best?

  5. great post! I do sometimes envy my friend who basically has a MAC counter in her bedroom but I change my make-up look all the time and don't really see much point in spending so much on something i'll rarely use! there are too many great products at a much cheaper price now! :) xxx

  6. Great post! I've been eyeing melon for awhile, but I couldn't part with my money for how little I'd end up using it. I really like the collection 2000 one though and such a good price :) Thanks x
